Cedar is hard on the beek
« on: February 12, 2008, 07:31:20 AM »
:D Hi All, a guy brought me a load of cedar and I've been sawing it up. Gotta get me a mask, feels like I've been snorting crushed glass.  ::) That is sure some pretty stuff though. Most of these were nice logs. This guy brings alot of logs to me, check out how he gets them here   He don't mind putting a load on that ol' truck.

And this is what happens to them.  8)

Hey Mike P, He just throws them over the side of the truck and I come get'm with the forklift. Cedar is rather light. He brings it on a trailer most of the time.

Yeah, be careful with cedar dust.  I think because of the natural preservative in the wood, it can be rough on the nose.  I took to using a air resp. mask when I mill and it makes a huge difference.  You don't blow terrible looking stuff out of your nose at the end of the day...
